I took ownership of PPG in 2023 after having trained here as a member since 2021 with the previous owner, Katie, and then with Aaron. Katie and Aaron guided me through strongman events, powerlifting meets, and even highland games. Their coaching was top-notch, and I loved the vibe of Strongman Saturdays with the crew. As a personal trainer myself, I cherished helping others find strength and confidence. When Katie suggested I take over the gym, it felt like a whirlwind of emotions – I think I experienced all five stages of grief right in front of her. PPG was more than just a gym; it was a community of encouragement and inclusivity. After much thought, I took the leap. My goal? To uphold PPG’s essence: a welcoming, body-positive space with technical coaching and a whole lot of fun. We’ve introduced new programs like StrongKID Sunday and upLIFT, all while keeping the spirit alive. And yes, I’m still training and competing in Strongman competitions!
Outside of the gym, I’m married and have two teenagers who you might see around the gym sometimes. We love hiking, board games, the Princess Bride, and the Decemberists… just your typical nerdy, outdoorsy family.
I hope you’ll come check out our quirky, strong gym family soon!
In strength,
Jess
