FAQs

We don’t typically offer free classes because we want to provide quality coaching, and dropping brand-new beginners into a small group session isn’t the best experience for anyone. We do occasionally offer free community classes, though!

The easiest way to get started is to book a free No-Sweat Intro. It’s just a chat with a coach where we’ll talk through your goals, answer your questions, and help you figure out the best way to get started.

Nope! We work with plenty of folks who do compete in strongman or powerlifting, and we also train a lot of folks who just want to get strong, feel good, and enjoy the gym. If you want to get onto a competition platform for the first time, we can definitely help. And if you want to be able to one trip your groceries into your 80s, we can help with that, too!

Your first visit to us will be your No-Sweat Intro. It’s just a short chat with a coach about your goals and how we can work with you to achieve them. No squats yet, so just come as you are!

Absolutely not! We work with people of all different experience levels, including people who are brand new to strength training.

We are a small gym that focuses on offering coaching in one-on-one, semi-private, and small group options. Many of our members were a little nervous or intimidated to start, but our coaches are supportive and caring, and our community welcomes people of all levels.

Probably not. We work with folks quite literally ranging from 6 to 90, and program appropriately based on your current level. People of any size can strength train and reap the rewards. When we meet, we’ll talk about what is the most appropriate way for you to get started.

Nope! You can work toward any kind of goal you want, but we won’t make you weigh in, track your weight, or engage in weight-loss-focused coaching.

No! We don’t require long-term contracts. This is something we do differently than the big gyms, and it’s something we’re pretty proud of. We try to treat others the way we want to be treated. When you decide you’re done training with us, we’ll just cancel your membership with 30 days notice. We don’t make it complicated, no human sacrifice, no conjuring ritual for gym membership cancellation.

We offer small group, semi-private, and personal training. With personal training, you’ll work one-on-one with a coach, typically following a program customized to you. Our small group options give you the benefits of coaching and structured programming while training alongside other members. Group sizes are small enough that your coach can still give you individual attention and make adjustments when needed.

Not sure which is right for you? Come in for a free No-Sweat Intro and we’ll talk about your goals, experience, and what you’re looking for. We’ll help you figure out the best fit.

In most cases, yes! We can modify programs to help you get stronger in the ways you can train, while avoiding movements or training choices that aggravate an injury or limitation.
